Boba is FIVE!!

While we were visiting our parents, Boba turned five years old!  He shares his birthday with his Meme (Han's mother), and they always have a joint party when we visit in November.  We have a tradition for both our boys on their birthdays.  They put on their daddy's uniform blouse and hat and each year they get a little taller.  Each year I notice how much higher the bottom of the blouse is getting, and while I love that they are healthy and growing, I also am a little sad about the coming day when that blouse will fit them like it does their daddy.  Like a man... until then, I will treasure every little moment I can... Happy Birthday, Sweet Boba!!
Loving his first birthday cake!!

We learned early on that the first two birthdays cannot be done this way... they are too young to keep the blouse on and stay still.  Tell me about the way your family marks birthdays!!

Creative Writing from Boba

Week 1
Creative Writing
Finish the Story

Tim and Sally received a new sled for Christmas one year.  They waited and waited for the snow to fall so they could use it.  Just before they went to bed one night, they saw some snowflakes fall.  When they got up the next morning, snow had fallen on everything.  They got on their warm snow clothes and…. They ran outside and played in the snow.  But a big monster came out of where the girl was, the monster went in its hole and telled the babies that it snow, then the babies came out and grabbed all the men and ate them up.  Then the monster spit them out, then the men punched the monsters down to the ground.  And the Monster got killed.  Then they lived happily ever after.  The End

He has to write something almost every week, and I just copy down exactly what he says, someday he's going to love this, right??  For this one, I gave him the beginning of the story (in italics), then he finished...

Decorating

We are slowly working on decorating every room in our house (we've never lived in a fully "decorated" house before)... but in the mean time, here are a few of the ways our boys help us get ready for this holiday...

Now he's got it... maybe!

So just outside our front door, you are greeted by these nice looking pumpkins....  yay for decorations!!

Boba is a bike-rider!!

Boba has always been a little on the short side, so it's been hard for him to reach the pedals on his bike... that was a gift from his friends Matthew and Pierce...
Well, tonight for the first time, he learned how to push the pedals ALL the way down before pushing with his other foot. It worked and he pedaled all around our circle, until it was too dark to see and we had to make him come inside.
Sweet Man!!

A day in the life....

I asked Jango to lead Boba through our "circle time" in the morning. They both had fun doing it by themselves... maybe I should try this more often. Although, Jango was a bit too comfortable sitting in my chair!

These are the things we do every morning... Before Boba starts his "boxes"...

We also have a section of the board with verses that Jango is memorizing for school and for Sunday school at the Chapel.

Typical day of boxes for Boba... he doesn't "really" have school since he's only 3, but he feels VERY left out if he doesn't have boxes! :)

Kind of a slow day for Jango... only 8 boxes... the most he has is 10 though because he has to do all of his writing work before he gets boxes. He HATES writing, so he has to do that first to cut down on the complaining about writing!

They think a very fun game is to go into the closet completely and make everyone else in the room guess what box they are picking... then they come out to reveal!!

We had a visitor at school today!! ;) His name is Skipper, and he was a gift from... Ms. Darby.
